Lineage and attribution
Dr. Harvey Hinton III is a Certified Laughter Yoga Leader. Joy Up™ is offered with deep respect for the lineage of laughter-based wellbeing work, particularly the pioneering contributions of Dr. Madan Kataria, founder of Laughter Yoga International.
Dr. Kataria’s global work has demonstrated the power of intentional laughter as a tool for health, connection, and collective wellbeing. His leadership and vision have helped normalize laughter as a legitimate practice for stress relief and human resilience across cultures and contexts.
Joy Up is distinct from Laughter Yoga
Joy Up™ and the JEBBEDIAH Way are not Laughter Yoga. They are separate practices, created by Dr. Harvey Hinton III and owned by Kuumba, LLC. While Joy Up™ incorporates intentional laughter, it is distinct in purpose and application. It is designed specifically as a brief, embodied practice for people leading and serving inside complex social systems.
Laughter Yoga, in English and in translation, is a trademark and service mark of Laughter Yoga International Foundation and Laughter Yoga University. Any Laughter Yoga sessions Dr. Hinton offers are offered in his capacity as a Certified Laughter Yoga Leader, and are separate from Joy Up™.
